Privacy

This site is operated by Dot Product Pty Ltd. This page explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how to get it removed. It is written to the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

If you complete the form, we collect the answers you select, any free text you type, and the contact details you enter: your name, your email address and, where the form asks for it, your phone number.

Whether or not you complete the form, the site records how it is used: which pages are viewed, how far down each page is read, which buttons are pressed, how far through the form people get, and how long each page is open. Every page carries one script that does this; there is no third-party tracking beyond what is listed below.

To tell one visit from another, the site stores two random identifiers in your browser: one that lasts until you close the tab, and one in local storage that persists between visits to this site only. Neither identifies you personally and neither is shared with any other site.

For each request we also record the network it came from — the organisation that operates your internet connection, as published in the global routing tables — and a one-way hash of your IP address that is specific to this site. The hash lets us recognise a return visit from the same connection without storing the address itself, and cannot be matched against any other site's records. We do not store your IP address.

Why we collect it

To reply to you if you complete the form, and to understand whether the product this site describes is worth building: how many people read it, what they answer, and where they stop. That is the legitimate purpose of the site, and the collection is limited to what that purpose needs.

Who we share it with, and where it is stored

Your information is stored and processed by:

• Cloudflare hosts the site, stores the form submissions and usage records in a database, and provides bot protection (Turnstile). Global infrastructure, including the United States.
• Resend sends the confirmation email to you and the notification to us, and receives any email you send to an address on this domain. Our emails may include an open-tracking image and tracked links, so we can tell whether the confirmation arrived and was read. United States.
• Lusha looks up publicly available professional details for the contact details you submit — such as job title, employer and company size — so we can understand who is interested. Only the details you entered are sent to it. United States.

We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to anyone else for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep your contact details until you ask us to delete them, or until we conclude the experiment this site is part of, whichever is sooner. Usage records are kept in aggregate; the identifiers above are not linked to your name unless you complete the form.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete anything we hold about you at [email protected] and we will action it within 30 days. You can clear the two identifiers at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Complaints

If you think we have handled your information wrongly, write to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
